New Trick?
« on: December 24, 2005, 12:47:33 PM »
I have been doing this trick by accident sometimes and I am able to hold it most of the time, I just thought I would put this video up to see if this trick has an actual name or if it just falls under the "Grind" name.

It's when you land a grind a little furthur back on the bike and grind the back wheel struts or axel.

Click Here to download the vid.

Trying to be funny? No I don't want to invent a stunt I just thought since "grind" is actually a skateboarding term, they got more tricks like tail slides nose slides etc, just thought maybe grinding a different part of the bike would be classified as something diff.

As for the music it's Bill Brown - Rainbow 6 XBox Intro ( You can DL the whole track from his site www.billbrownmusic.com)

Nah, Im not trying to be funny, not in a nasty way anyway. I just wish I could stumble across something that would be used in vids regulally :)

And Kert, did I say it was a p2b2bbg though :P? Thats the type you had in your vid :) Theres a difference :P

I imagine its hard(er) to do,but i dont think it needs a new name, why dont we just use 'nosegrind / tail grind / plain 'ol grind' :)

I'd say it's a much harder grind to get into, but I can't say that it is easier to hold or not. Can anyone that has been able to hold this grind say whether it's more complicated or not(to keep from falling)?

I personally would think the grind would be more respected.

it is definetly harder, and if someone pulled off a really long one it should be respected, its coz of how much of the bike is hanging over the rail, speed is the key for that type of grind

I called them tire grinds in VC. It's just a different way of grinding,  unless it let's you grind easier/better/faster with certain vehicles than I don't think it will catch on. It would probably help with grind spots, though. Such as if a fence was kinda close to a wall, and you couldn't grind it using the middle of the bike, than this would be good.

I've done it by accident a few times on a Freeway in SA. The problem is there isn't enough force to pull the bike to keep it stable, most of the weight is on the front of the bike. Unequal forces = failure. LOL, imagine that, forces in a game...:unsure:

First of all, it isn't really a new stunt. I've seen it and done before, but I doubt it will be used much. If you land a rail like that, it's very, VERY, hard to not fell of. I've always called it "tail grind", and think it should be called that too.
