TBV - V's Story
« on: July 11, 2023, 10:23:27 AM »

Greetings, fappie-fappers. I present you my new VCS solo. Stunts were performed on the PPSSPP emulator.

Some sidenotes and introduction: I had this game on my PSP since 07, so I've always found it appealing (as a stunter) to find spots and try them. Even with the emulator there are lots of limitations, no replay system, no Dannye's etc., except the save states (which were only used as you would with Dannye's save/load position).
I was surprised how unexplored this game stunting wise is - I started preparing this solo since April and even managed to discover couple of new methods. Needless to say I had lots of fun stunting there, and would be nice to see more new stuff on the VCS engine from the community in the future.
Quality of the video is a bit 2008-ish because of couple of reasons - PSP graphics weren't made for screens larger than 480х272, plus my OBS settings weren't tweaked for that "ultra HD" quality, but I don't think this is a problem -IT'S WATCHABLE unless youre a snowflake that jerks off to 453543p videos only. :ninja:. Enjoy!

Super cool video - very surprised by the engine of VCS and how there's more stunting methods to be found, honestly, this looks super fun to stunt in. It's a shame that there's no replay system tho. Double bumps were crazy, especially the cheetah one near the end. The stories maps are fun by themselves but this takes it to another level :) does LCS have bikes? I only played VCS back in the day

Good stunts, somehow GTA 3 and VCS are the only 3D GTA games I haven't tried stunting in . Keep it up! :)

LCS has bikes yeah, look up Limits of the Powers from the old days :ninja:.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it!

Yep, https://www.gtabase.com/gta-liberty-city-stories/vehicles/ Here's a list of all LCS vehicles and their stats. No airplanes though, which is a bit of a downgrade since in GTA III you could actually fly a plane.
Tbh I wanted to try some LCS stuff as well, but I got carried away with the amount of fresh stuff I found just in VCS. Maybe next one could be in LCS/VCS  :cc_detective:

Fun vid, I especially enjoyed the car stuff. LCS/VCS physics have always intrigued me, they seem to have the snappiness of VC with some aspects of SA mixed in. Cool find with the bmx, it seems super scuffed in this engine (iirc you can reach ridiculous speeds just by learning foward), I wonder if there's more goofy stuff that can be done with it. I only wish you had landed more objects that are unique to VCS but maybe there aren't as many of those as I remember

Woah, amazing stunts man! Especially freeway stuff was unexpected (tough angles) and mtb method was just wtf, didn't know you can do that in vcs. 😂 WCAR is also veryyyy much welcomed, nice song choice. GG 😎

That wallslide glitch was by far the most I could "sqeeze" out of the BMX. Its slow, bunny-hops are small (cant do shenanigans as in SA for example). I managed to do couple of bunny-hops to grinds but they were meh-ish and didnt include them. But yeah definitely could get creative even with that!

WCAR is also veryyyy much welcomed, nice song choice. GG 😎
Rock on! I've been listeneing to WCAR since 2009, great band. Even after Kyle's death (the clean vocalist) they still manage to pull out banger songs like Darkbloom.

Thanks for the comments, keep em coming!

Super nice! Honestly, I don't know a lot of songs by them, I remember one very popular song by them called "Hope" and I recently heard some others as well from the Darkbloom album. Anyways, I love: One More Day, Holding The Embers and Promise You are super catchy, emotional bangers ;D

Unexpected video to say the least, but it turned out to be great! You have definitely changed VCS stunting with this, I hope we will see more videos in this engine in the future.
The freeway seemed surprisingly fast, good stuff landed with that. Also the car stunts were huge, too. The bike wallride method reminded me of the one of Daksad's, however that looked much more smooth compared to this  Still, it's a nice find and you conquered some very high roofs with that.
Song was my taste as well so all in all a very unique and entertaining video. Hopefully let's see more of it  :P

Yeah it is basically as fast as the PCJ + being lower which makes it perfect for low/curb bumps
Thank you for the detailed post!  :)

Good video man. For me, videos from stories always seem to be a hybrid of sa and vc videos. Cool stunts, it's unusual to see stuck methods in this game, the bike method is reminded me of bmx stunts in gta 5. I didn't even know there was a bike in this game .

Good video, I like to see videos on old GTAs that are still too little explored. I encourage the process!

Why didn't you play the PS2 version? Despite a rather mediocre port, it has the merit of being able to display natively in 576i PAL or 480p NTSC with the original hardware or to upscale to 1080p with Action Replay/FreeMcBoot GSM. Or simply with a PCX2 emulator which to my knowledge runs better than a PPSSPP.
