I think around 05-08 would have been the best times imo, admittedly I only joined mid 2006 but the atmosphere then and the amount of posting was great; so many different stunters, editors, skinners, graphic designers, scripters etc were around and it was really exciting to see what would come out next - everything seemed so different when it came out. The response to videos back then was sick, even bad videos would get six pages and sick videos first few pages would be spammed with "OMG D/LING" quicky replaced with "SADSADFSAFAWESOMESAUCE" after watching the videos. Everything seemed more competitive and enjoyable with people pushing eachother; crews competing for network spots, graphic designer battles, skinning battles etc. New videos nearly every week and groundbreaking stunts coming out one after another and the videos then had a much different feel than they do now although maybe that's just nostalgia talking. And ofcourse the constant shitposting, memes and other general forum banter was great to be involved with.

Up until around 2012 was when I started somewhat losing interest in GTAS with loads of veterans disappearing, crews retiring and general activity slowing down and I can't lie it's slightly upsetting seeing GTAS for lack of better words be a ghost of it's former self although you can't expect the place to maintain it's activity over 14 years being mostly based around 12+ year old games. I still post here frequently as I'd honestly consider GTAS my home on the internet, one of the few communities I've really been involved with and made some great friends in but 95% of the time opening VC feels quite monotonous. It also seems kind of strange to me that there are people who've put literally thousands upon thousands of hours into stunting and suddenly disappear without a trace but that's life eh, hopefully we get a few good more years out of this place.

I wonder if any ex-stunters have actually died?

I've been dead inside ever since I started stunting.

I'm not sure, but didn't Onix die in Syria?

2007-2013 probably for me at least because that was when I was somewhat active and the forum was booming with activity and new videos.

Well, there is PK who amazingly baited half GTAS with his "I'm dying send your prayers" stuff and got a collab dedicated to him.

I feel 2011-2012-2013 were the best years with 2012-2013 as the "peak"

Talking from my own point of view and what I lived, I can't really speak for the years before that because I joined GTAS in early 2010, I remember there was a shitload of hate going on the forums those days for some reason but eventually everyone chilled out lmao

Every year until GTAV came out. Thats when the big inactivity slowly started covering the forums.

Before: You stunting in SA or VC? RIGHT ON! Theres this place filled with stunters its called GTAStunting.net, its like the very heart of stunting and you can be a part in one of the best crews in the world and meet new friends online.

Now: GTA V, whole new era of social media and stuff. Its a good evolution indeed, and its a lot of fun, but our forums dont feel like before, they are not the heart of stunting anymore. Good thing we still have some SA and VC guys left to keep the spirit

I left the forums in 2012 after organising GTASL7
came back just to check things out as i've been watching some old crew videos that made me want to begin to stunt back in 09.
it's actually quite sad to see topics like this, i never actually thought that these forums could be so monotonous as they seem to be.

as i remember in 09 and 2010 when i began stunting i loves not just stunting, but the forums were the best, the topics and the forum games were actually something that i loved :)

Feels as if V made stunting more mainstream. Just like how Big V said with social media."Casual Gamers" notice stolen stunts on a stolen FB page, and finally notice a community that dedicates time into the craft.
