An awkward bug in the new update
« on: July 14, 2016, 12:48:39 PM »
On the new update,  on some races and in certain ramps (not the ones with the boosters)  i have gotten infinite glide off without much of a speed to go with, that is really odd !!
i have a clip of one example comming up soon, but yeah whats up with that and i hope its something fixable cause that just doesnt feel right

Am I completely missing something, or is no-one even mentioning the fact that the stunt physics somehow partially carry over into free roam?  It doesn't seem to be something you can easily trigger but it's basically the equivalent of anti-fall, where you can literally ram head-first into the train and just bounce off without coming off your bike.

There are also times when you get the absolute opposite and your bike simply will not bump off anything.  I wouldn't mind if it were consistent and we just had to adapt, but at the minute you can never be sure what's happening and it makes it very difficult to accurately judge the new bikes.

Bumping is the same no matter what you do. Bailing is messed up across the entire game though.

We can't be playing the same game.  Seriously it's messed up.  A lot of the time it is fine, but then you'll suddenly not be able to fall off your bike at all, just like in test mode in the creator.  I've got lots of video of this.  When this is active it makes bumping very different as the bike seems more inclined to simply stop at bumps, rather than jump.

There's a group of us that play together very regularly and we all spend the majority of our time stunting in free roam, and we've all agreed on this.  I'm shocked it's not being talked about.

The upside is that people who have never been able to stunt have found themselves jumping all over the place at times.  Plus it's nice to let other players ram you with their car and literally just bounce off them (or bump off the front of their car if they're coming head first).

Bailing has changed as a result of stunt races, there's no doubt about that. It's bugged in the sense that it doesn't always trigger outside of stunt races, especially in single player, but when it does, you can't bail unless you land on the side of your bike or your body. Bumping hasn't changed at all, what you're seeing is that you can bump in situations where you should have bailed, and you can get bumps which don't go anywhere when you normally should have bailed. This has nothing to do with bumping physics, it is a side affect of the changes to bailing.

Traffic/multiplayer bumping on the other hand is unrelated to the Cunning Stunts update. That was introduced with GTA V 1.34, as seen in the following video. In the Cunning Stunts update (1.35), horizontal wallriding, vertical wallriding, wallclimbing, and framebouncing have been reverted back to GTA V 1.33's physics. Traffic bumping, the wiggle boosting fix, multicoloured creator race vehicles, and the vehicle website updates have been kept from GTA V 1.34. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdpWweBjSVc

Okay, we are saying the same thing actually.  I totally agree that it's the lack of bailing that is the problem.  I have, however, had periods where I literally could not bump at all, when unable to bail.  So yes, that would be not bailing that's causing it, but it has completely stopped me stunting at all, several times.

I've just not been able to bump and put it down to bumps, but your logic makes perfect sense.
