as someone who hasn't played V I think the whole gliding thing is stupid and alot of it just seems like hitting a ramp/bump, gliding to a building and hoping for the best plus alot of it seems accidental and not very planned out compared to VC/SA bumps. Some of the shit I see in it is cool and I know people gotta adapt to the new times and I can't hate on that, just looks so fucking weird to me looks like fucking ET is trying to get home not a stuntvid :P

Plus sometimes I feel like alot of V stuntvids (not you guys just in general) are just trendhopping for views/adsense but w/e
Thing is, gliding isn't "bump something and fly to your landing". It is a skill, just like radding in VC is a skill. You're not going to be able to do it first go. And it does have limits, you can't just fly anywhere. Although it might seem like it when you see people fly across the map, but that's because they achieve massive speed going down from a mountain which allows it to happen, you can't get that much speed at all on a normal run-up for a stunt.

As for the "it looks stupid", I think it's just because you aren't used to it or you don't get how it works. Once you know its ins and outs it looks completely normal, at least to me. Certain VC/SA methods look retarded too if you actually think about it "hehe xd why are you humping your bike". But it's a useful technique so we use it to our advantage and get used to how it looks. I think if the people who find it to be ugly or 'OP' took the time to learn how it works and even try it out they might be surprised.

I can also say that most of my stunts are properly planned out, like they were in VC and SA. Of course every now and again you'll get a weird bump and end up where you didn't expect, but that's happened equally many times in the other games as well. I'd say most people have a specific goal in mind whenever they do a stunt in V.

as someone who hasn't played V
This is where you're going wrong and all your assumptions about gliding and V stunting itself are turned into a pile of useless words, to say it the harsh way. I can guarantee you that when you launch the game and try stunting in it you won't be able to land the stunts of semi-viewwhore people for quite some time. Do you ever see V stunters talk trash about the older games because the roofs we land are so tiny? Nope. They might have a giggle because of taxi boosting but that's it. They respect the games and the people stunting in it, sadly the opposite is a lot harder for some reason.

EDIT://Most of this is not directed directly at you, but more of a general thing.

funny thing is, there is so little gliding in this video...
i didn't expect this to turn into a discussion on the merits of stunting techniques throughout the games history.

how did people react to stunting physics when IV droppped? did they have as much negative critique? i don't recall seeing too many GTA IV videos and it rarely comes up in the discussion of "older games vs. V"

Don't get me wrong I have 100% respect for anyone who stunts in any game and the fact I've played V for a grand total of about 5 minutes is probably why I don't fully understand all of the methods in the same way someone who's never watched a stuntvid would see a Barney video and be like "yo wtf mods lol" hence why me and other people who've been so used to VC/SA for the last 5/10 years see gliding as such a foreign thing. Didn't mean to cause a debate and fuck up the vid topic sorry OP.

Next paycheck I'll stop living in the past and buy V on Steam and probably eat my words  :P

I can say stunting in V was probably easy if you have some great skill in the past.
:neen:

Rainbow, VC, III, SA and IV is hard than V, as I said earlier it's easy.

edit: past is better than V, but I play V mostly but let say IV v. V I'll go to IV.  :Disgusted: is speaking the truth but damn "xd why you are humping your bike?" atleast it doesn't look weird when you are flying with NRG or PCJ in SA,VC and other past games, V is just weird, just saying.

I've never done any stunts in any GTA game. Bike humping and gliding all look stupid to me .... stupidly impressive! :P
