Motorcycles comparison
« on: August 18, 2015, 09:38:45 AM »
Hey there!

The game was out for some time now, but still there isn't any decent tutorial or info about basic things in the game to start stunting.
Me, being a total noob still can't understand how the hell everyone fly over whole map after a simple bump. I can get some roofs easily, but nothing compared to the skyscrapers everyone else get.

Anyway, I decided to start all over again, and dig some info in the game to get myself ready for stunting.

Here's the video comparison of all the bikes in the game (except PCJ and some slow, big bikes which I was not interested in). The speed comparison in the video shows a timer of completion the track. All the bikes were upgraded to the max.

                    Top speed   Acceleration   Wheelie   Mass
                       (mph)       (out of 10)                   (kg)

Akuma               120              10            Bad             250
Vader                 108              7             Bad              230
Ruffian               110              8.5          Good             250
Carbon RS          111              7.5           Bad              250
Bati 801             118              7.5          Good             230
Hackuchou         117               x            Good             250
Nemesis             108              7.5           Bad              250
Thrust                117               x            Good            270
Double T            117              7.5           Bad             200
Lectro                107               x             Bad             250

So what you're saying is Akuma is faster, quicker and lighter than Hakouchu? I don't think so.

You can alctually look that up in the handling file itself, if you dont believe the gameplay video ;)

I think the ratings of wheelies should go Bad - Good - Great, since some bikes have good wheelies (like the Bati), while some bikes have fantastic wheelibility (like the Hakuchou and the Ruffian)

Nice work and good effort, but this is missing some vital information :ajaja:. More important than top speed on the airport runway is the maximum flat velocity value, which determines the top speed vehicles are capable of approaching. This capability is determined by values such as drag, driveforce (acceleration), and mass, which is why most vehicles fail to reach their maximum flat velocity while driving. Now with regards to mass, I understand why you picked it as a representation of gliding ability, but drag is just as important as mass (study drag if you don't understand). You've also listed the incorrect mass values for the Bati 801 and the Hakuchou, which are 230 and 250 respectively.

Maximum Flat Velocity Values

Akuma = 145mph
Bagger = 130mph
Bati 801/801RR = 150mph
Carbon RS = 145mph
Daemon = 135mph
Double T = 147mph
Enduro = 119mph
Faggio = 90mph
Hakuchou = 152mph
Hexer = 135mph
Innovation = 135mph
Lectro = 140mph
Nemesis = 140mph
PCJ 600 = 130mph
Police Bike = 135mph
Ruffian = 140mph
Sanchez = 118mph
Sovereign = 135mph
Thrust = 152mph
Vader = 140mph
Vindicator = 148mph

Finally we must recognise that a completely flat surface isn't an accurate test of real-world top speed. Vehicles gain much more speed downhill, especially while doing a wheelie, and most roads have bumps and curbs which allow you to pull higher wheelies to reach higher speeds more quickly. The Bati 801, Carbon RS, Double T, Hakuchou, Thrust and Vindicator pull WAY ahead under the circumstances. For these reasons, I can't stand by your findings.

Yes, it is pretty practical, but noone actually is doing maths while stunting. Player just need the naked thruth which bike is fastest/lightest on paper. You choose the best one for a particular spot. And if you bail alot - you choose another bike.
