Is there any FPS boost?
« on: May 11, 2015, 05:14:47 AM »
Hey guys, I don't know if this question has been asked already, but is there any low FPS timecyc for V? I've already tried the .bat file, which sets CPU priority of gta5.exe to high and gtavlauncher.exe to low, but it doesn't seem to help.

I'm getting like 50fps in interiors, but when I'm driving outside it drops even to 20 and I'd appreciate a bit smoother gameplay if possible.

Thanks in advance. :)

Nothing exists, you've just got to lower your settings and optimise your system.

:( send em money

1. Make a research on cost and perfomance and find out what it's best and affordable (that is enough to play GTA V)
2. Get rid of some old stuff you got hanging around and sell it (old videogames, clothes, shoes, etc)
3. Use your skills at your advantage to make some quick money (if you don't have any, mcdonalds is always an option)

If you work hard enough, you can get GTA running in 2 weeks tops ;)

Prostitution is always an option... and if you get in trouble you could always say 'GTA V made me do it' ^^

What setup do you have right now, so we know what already is optimised and what isn't

Haha Daffy!

My rig atm:
Intel core 2 quad Q6600 2,4ghz
Nvidia GeForce 460GTX 1GB
8GB ram DDR2

I decided to earn some little money and upgrade to 750GTX 2GB.

And you managed 20fps

Yeah, go for the GPU first (GTA V is GPU intensive), then upgrade to a low-end i5, or a high-end i3, since GTA V DOES use all 4 cores. RAM shouldn't really be an issue.

8GB RAM is great for V, a 460 GTX should be ok too... Seems to me all you need is a good processor :)

The problem here is that it's DDR2. Much slower, but GTA V is good with RAM. the 460 JUST hits above minimum, but GTA V is a GPU intensive game, so upgrading the GPU would bring him to around 60fps minimum.

Looks you need a new processor and a new RAM. But remember, you have a LGA 775 processor and DDR2 RAMs.

To make an upgrade you'll have to change your motherboard as well to one that has LGA 1150/1155/1156/2011 socket and DDR3/DDR4.

My advice is: Before purchasing a new processor/ram, get a new motherboard.

Paull I know man, thats why I'll get a new GPU which will surely give me noticeably better FPS instead of getting a new mobo + ram + cpu.. it's too complicated and I'm not planning to get a brand new rig, I just need a little upgrade now. If I were gonna upgrade my PC, I'd defo build a new one and sell this old crap.

I'm sure the GPU I mentioned would make a big difference since it's newer and 2GB.
