Can any other bikes make this jump?
« on: May 06, 2015, 03:50:55 AM »
I recently did a stunt montage using the Lectro, mainly to see what it could do and how it managed as a stunt bike.  I finished the montage with this video...

GTAV - Von Crastenburg Hotel (Vinewood)

I don't think it's a spectacular stunt or anything, but I've never seen it done in free roam before.  My question is, has anyone done that in free roam on another bike?  I obviously took advantage of the KERS in order to get the height and distance, but KERS isn't actually as impressive as some people think so I think it may be doable without it.

I'm just curious.

People probably have done it before in free roam and not recorded, stunt is too easy.

Never tried, but I imagine it's possible with any of the faster bikes  :ajaja:

I'm kind of hoping for a "yes" and a video.  I'm mainly curious because the run-up slows you down so most bikes wouldn't be able to make the jump at top speed.

The Lectro is pretty slow, I can see atleast the Bati and better making this.

I'd give it a whirl if I was at home :P

Will try, John! I'll edit this post in a few minutes with the video!

Edit:
Done! Not as easy as I heard since it's pretty tricky to get the required speed down that road, but not as hard as some other stuff I tried this week :P

PS: How do you make it so it's playable over here? I can't seem to achieve it

Nicely done, Gus.  It was because it's tricky to get full speed that I was wondering.  I need wonder no more :)

Edit: That's not free roam, but I'll ignore that since you didn't use anything other than turning off the traffic.

I tried it in free roam for so long, but it was so annoying to keep hitting the cars :(

It's old with the Bati and the Hakuchou, most people boosted it though.

That's my reason for asking - until now I'd not seen it done without using boosts, and I watch a LOT of stunting videos.  I can see now that a non-boosted bike is capable of doing it though, but I've still never seen it done in free roam before.

I'm not trying to say I'm the first or any other such arrogant nonsense.  I know it's not an amazing stunt or anything, and knew that before it was pointed out by people above.  I'm just curious.

I think I can make it in Free Roam if i'm patient enough to keep avoiding those cars... I still don't get what changes though :P

No cars makes it easier.  If you do it in a race but leave the traffic on then it's exactly the same as free roam, but you still get to reset to the last checkpoint if you don't make it.

But you're right - it's just patience now we know it can be done without boosts.
