New laptop
« on: January 01, 2015, 05:31:01 PM »
Getting a new laptop Sunday, not looking for one to handle editing software, just one that can cope with VC and SA so that I can game. I have in mind a TOSHIBA Satellite L70-B-119, it's got 8gb RAM, 1 TB hard drive and a 1.7 Ghz processor with 3MB cache.

Will this be good enough? I'll try and fix my PC for the editing side of things, but I feel like coming back into the stunting world and I have quite a few spots which haven't been landed yet, a reply before Sunday will be much appreciated :).

I used to have a cheap $400 laptop with a duo core and 320HDD..I'm sure that will be fine for VC/SA. You'll get around 25-45 fps

For the price it's pretty bad. The processors going to piss you off a lot.

Although, if you are only using it for VC/SA it should work fine. Even CSGO would probably work (on low detail) but you are going to have trouble with a lot of high end games. The RAM is probably your strong point considering you mentioned that you will be using it to edit and it should be perfectly capable of utilising vegas.

It should run okay for what you want it for.

I was going to say, for about $500-$600 you can get a damn decent laptop with an i3-i5. Can't wait to see some stunts from ya ;)
