I've made an old school chicago house track

Stepped out of my comfort zone and slowed things down to 123 BPM.

What are you using for this, FL or Reason or what? Sounds rad man, when I read Chicago I was expecting something classic like the track Lack Of Love by Charles B and Adonis (later sampled by Andre VII and released as Rhodesia On Acid) but that was great, super nice vibe and melodies, real chill.

I think I vaguely remember him saying he used FL Studio although I could be wrong, although if you want to start I'd suggest using that. There's many more DAW's out there like Reason, Logic etc but FL is a real good starting ground! I don't mean to hijack the thread but I tried to make some Drum and Bass like a year ago and came up with this in a week or so using FL Studio. The intro is kinda shitty but I'd say it came out alright considering I had no idea what I was doing (you can probably tell ):

But yeah I'd definitely say FL Studio, and get the Massive and Nexus plugins for that too, Ltab's probably better at recommending stuff though

fl studio is best to use as a beginner imo. i started using reason after a while though. just get nexus 2 like blaze said, and use google to find some free drum kits. cool song ltab! you're very talented. more so than i am at least

@Blaze: I might do some acid stuff later, I actually wanna make tons of tracks from different genres just to discover new grounds. About your track it really made me laugh but in a good way, that intro followed up by the vocal sample and then the drop made me go LOL. Nice idea though

@Ktulu: as Blaze said I use FL Studio, it's for me the most eficent DAW and a perfect one to start making music. Many people say it's way too basic and shit but you can create anything you want if you have the right tools
If you want to start, I'd suggest the FL Studio 11 and plugins like Sylenth, Nexus (I never used this one but it's good for a begginer because it has many expansions with tons of presets to have a solid idea of how sound design works) and Massive which is a bit "harder" (tip: massive is great for basslines ) and of course drum samples, there are great packs all over the interwebz.
You'll surely need more help so feel free to PM me and ask me anything you want, I'll gladly give you a hand!

Thanks man! And yeah I thought about producing hip hop/trap or something similar a while ago just for fun I'd like to try as many styles as possible.
