Whelp.
« on: August 02, 2014, 12:04:36 PM »
Hello there,

I bet you're suprised seeing me here. I have a question regarding GTA SA booting problems.
Whenever I start GTA SA, it tries loading it and then immediatly shuts it down.

Playboyz has tried to delete GTA_SA_Set in the GTA SA user files but this file was non exsisting.
Basically whenever I try to open the game, my laptop tries to load it (which you can hear due to the cooling fan trying to go mental) but my laptop doesn't seem to allow it.

We tried several things but came to a point where we decided to ask the guys from GTAStunting.net.

If you have any suggestions how I could potentially fix this issue.

Regards, OversizeD & Playboyz.

Are you sure your laptop can handle SA?

Didn't playboyz quit because he had to deal with life problems and go?

And well this happened to me too and suddenly it opened one day lol

1. reinstall sa
2. reinstall graphics drivers
I have reinstalled SA like 7 times already, I don't think that has the fix consealed.
I will ask Playboyz to help me with reinstalling graphic drivers, I think there is a chance that this is the issue.

Are you sure your laptop can handle SA?
I am 100% sure it can handle SA. Considering I started my 'career' on that laptop. All the stunts and video's I released / participated in are recorded / made on that Laptop. So that should be fine.

Yes he did. We're both having issues in real life and try to support each other. That's why we visit each other as often as possible.
And I don't think my game will start 'randomly' like you say yours did.

I'll try to reinstall the drivers in a bit.

Thanks for the help so far

I just updated my drivers and it seems to have fixed the problem. So before I move on, thanks a bunch dude.

But now if I try to connect to a SA:MP server it 'redirects' me to Singeplayer by use of a white screen that fades to black then white and then black again. Then I am suddenly on my singleplayer screen where it says Start game, Options and Quit Game.
I figured it had to do with my version of SA considering it even announced that saying my version was too low and it only supported ..... version.
I decided to downgrade my SA game and it seemed to have worked. However it did not. I got a step closer to being able to play the game again. Because I hadn't gotten the Multiplayer loading screen yet. But it then decided to shut off again this time with a crash.

I have no idea how to fix this either, so I hope you guys know the answer and want to help me.

So far, thanks a lot for the help already. I really do appreciate it.

Yeah like Artifex said above, don't edit anything inside the gta_sa.exe like disable visual themes. I use that so you don't get the mouse bug in SP

Don't Run it as administrator, SA_MP I mean.
It automatically does that, and I have no idea how to turn it off.

I don't edit those things. If it appears to be changed, playboyz tried fixing the former problems. I'll have to ask him to turn that off.

I'm on it! I'll update you guys in a little bit.

And again, thanks for the help so far.

Edit: According to that firewall stuff it is allowed already. I have 0 knowledge about these things so also this, will be reported to playboyz.
