tfw you land one semi decent stunt for a video and have an identity crisis leading to version 10 of your own skin. Same model as the previous version aside from separate rim/tyre textures. Same reflection idea but less pronounced due to the body alpha, will probably change a few things here and there but relatively happy with it for now.

And a random in game shot because those glamour shots as above always tend to look a little bit better :P

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

More of the same, first is another iteration of the last skin and the second is an iteration of that with a bunch of fucking around with the reflection map. Second one looks pretty wild in game.

Random video of some other speca related bullshit, just fucking around really.

I just realized these skins are all just one continuation of eachother

Some other experiment that randomly came together, has two different levels of reflection; black area has same speca as above PCJ whereas the rainbow area is much toned down.

Some other shit soon maybe

For sure, not the greatest showreel video in the world but it should help demonstrate the effect.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOmR58qduEo&feature=youtu.be

I did originally want two separate reflection maps but simply couldn't make that work. To have the two different levels of reflection I essentially cloned the body and now have two body maps; one with speca and one without. The one with speca has the full body map texture, and the one without speca has only the rainbow parts on it which essentially created the super reflective black part and the matte rainbow. Dropped the opacity a little bit on the rainbow body map to allow some of the reflection to shine through.

Something similar, still very WIP.

Thanks bro, you should make something soon  :jajaja:

yoooooo wtf thats insane, you need to master 3d modeling now and take it to the next level

Honestly I'm not really great at 3D modelling, everything I've made thus far was very basic 3DS Max or ZMod stuff. There is some cool stuff like the wheel being split into 3 sections (tyre/outer, inner rim and the disk), different specas, cloned body for speca/bodywork etc. Ideally there is some stuff I'd like to do such as a proper round wheel with no bugs, remapping some parts so they aren't reused (ie engine exhaust/front suspension) and iron out some bugs - basically all the shit Payton did and didn't release but that's a job for another day.

For today I had a fairly productive skinning day, lately I've been doing alot of the DFF/Reflection experiments however they do get repetitive so I set myself a challenge: to make a PCJ with no outside resources (no textures/brushes/patterns/reusing parts/dffs etc), basically the sorta shit I would've done back in the day to make a skin. Normally when I create a skin I have an idea of what I want to make whereas this I went into it blind, started from the ground up with the wheels and went from there. Recorded/timelapsed it (just over an hour) incase anyone is interested even if it basically was just creating a texture from filters and haphazardly mapping it to the PCJ. Not the greatest work but I think it came out alright.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sjP8MwNsII

After that I did some quick changes to the red PCJ posted above, same specas as previous with some red mixed in which looks pretty cool in game.

Then did some more work to another WIP bike, colour scheme inspired by my mountain bike (2013 Giant Anthem X) - simple red speca on the body, hectic one on the glass/inner rims. Actually relatively happy with this one.

And just for shits and giggles I took the first PCJ and chucked it on my DFF, think there's some issues with the model as some weirdness on the body there but overall it's pretty cool. Added some light blue speca to it so it wasn't as plain and also skinned a guy to match.

I know alot of these skins seem repetitive/continuations of eachother and well they pretty much are in the sense that I'll be working on one skin, end up changing something which doesn't fit with what I'm going for at the time but still looks cool so I'll save it and then finish it up later. I think I've expressed this before but skinners will know how annoying it is not really being happy with the skins you make and constantly changing/updating them to the point they no longer look like what you originally wanted ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah well, some more stuff soon when I inevitably get bored of my own skin and change it and five versions spiral out of that.

Good shit, kinda reminds me of the PCJ I made for you with the hyper red colouring :P

Few slight changes, coming to a video soon tm.

Made this a while back, scrapped it together using some old skins then spent a little more time on the wheel texture. Always thought it needed something more but never really did anything with it.

Biel wanted something generically brutal so I used it as a base for a bike that looks like everything else I made in 2014 :P

Got bored, rehashed the original with some different body textures and green highlights.
