Inspired by the VC airgrab competitions.
So yeah, basically this game has the same mechanics as the original VC airgrab competitions. If you never saw any these before you can check one out
here (click). The major difference is, that this game is obviously not limited to airgrabs (hence the X) and that it is supposed to be an endless game.
Should be clear how it works. In case it's not; there's a lot of TL;DR action underneath.
Scroll to the end of this post for a scoreboard and links to the current competition and past ones.
Thanks go to
GaZ for helping me putting this together and to
Ktulu for the idea of integrating a point-system into this game!
The game for the reading-lazy:
1. Land a stunt that's fitting the objective of the round with a standard CJ skin.
2. Be awesome and win the game.
Basic game-mechanics:
1. An objective is chosen - for example: "perform a grind"
2. Max. 15 participants submit a stunt suiting the given objective using the default CJ clothing.
3. A video showcasing the stunts anonymously will be made and released along with a poll topic.
4. The members of GTAS vote for the stunt they consider the best.
5. The winner chooses the next objective, the process repeats.
Your stunt:There are no boundaries on the way you perform your stunt. It can be new or old, you can do anything that involves the given objective.
The actual execution, location, vehicle and so on are your choice. However if your objective is to grind, you propably won't get far by simply performing a grab, use common sense!
Anonymous:In the actual videos, the stunts will be tagged numerical. Your stunt will remain anonymous until the voting is over. You can choose to reveal which stunt is yours after that. Seeing the stunts without a nametag gurantees objective voting results, which is actually the whole point of this game. Your stunt must be performed using the standard CJ clothing, otherwise it won't be accepted.
If you wish so, you can also participate anonymously (ninja-mode). Just tell the organiser that you don't want your name shown at all before votings are over.
If you used your personal CJ clothing, you can use
this method (click) to change it to standard.
Do it yourself; changing your clothing is not the responsibilty of the editor and/or organiser.
Misc:-
15 participants are the maximum allowed,
10 participants are the minimum required.
- There is
no deadline for the organisation-phase. It will take as long as it has to.
- The deadline for voting is 72 hours - starting with creation of the poll/video topic.
- You can't reserve a slot in this competition. The only way to get in is to submit a stunt as one of the first 15 participants.
- You can use replays made prior to a competition, but only if it hasn't been used in a video before.
- You can't use stunts from any map modifications, the stunt must be performed in San Andreas.
- Obviously, modding is forbidden. If you try to submit a modded stunt to this competition you will be permanently banned from taking part in it. No warnings.
- It is not allowed to uncover which stunt is yours before votings have ended. Doing so before it ended disqualifies you from that round immediately and might end in a ban from the game in general.
- If you get banned from this game you will be blacklisted and removed from the scoreboard completely.
- There will be each an individual topic for the organisation and the polls ("voting booth") for each x-competition.
- For the love of god, do
NOT upload to filefactory.com.
Scores:For winning a round you will gain points. After getting them, they will be added to your total score in the scoreboard in this topic.
The distribution of the points works as following:
- Winning at 1st place -> 3 Points
- Winning at 2nd place -> 2 Points
- Winning at 3rd place - > 1 Point
If two or more people rank as either 1st, 2nd or 3rd, the points will be distributed. If for instance two people make the 2nd place, they will each gain 1 point.
In case two or more people on the scoreboard have the same amount of points the one with more overall votes will rank higher. If points and votes are both equal, they will have the same ranking.
Organisation:(concerning the organisers only!)
If you win one of these competitions you'll be allowed to choose the objective of the next competition, organise and edit it. Please make sure you don't use over-complicated or boring subjectives. Keeping it simple will leave the most room for creativity and variety.
If you aren't interested in choice of objective etc., you can give this away to any member of GTAS by just stating so.
If you aren't editing yourself make sure to send the stunts to the editor without nametags.
Editing:(concerning the editors only!)
You should keep in mind that the competition-videos are supposed to be pure showcasing.
There's no need to make an artwork out of it,
the editing must not take away the attention from the stunts.
Also, you should make sure that the stunts are presented in a random order and that no stunt is specially highlighted. Make them equal.
