GRID 2
« on: August 08, 2012, 12:45:05 PM »
Codemasters has officially announced GRID 2, after its tease last week, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

The game has been in pre-production for the last two years and is powered by the latest version of the EGO Game Technology Platform, which promises to “raise the gameplay and technological bar for motorsport gaming.”

According to Codemasters, it will feature an expansive career mode and new TrueFeel Handling System that uses real physics to “to hit a sweetspot between accessibility and simulation and deliver handling that is approachable yet challenging to master.” The career will span three continents–U.S., Europe and Asia–and includes tracks in Paris, Miami, and more.

“GRID‘s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again,” said Clive Moody, Executive Producer. “The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race.”

“We’re pushing boundaries once again with what can be accomplished in the genre via new tools, technology and innovations. In single-player, split-screen and online, the next-generation of the EGO Game Technology Platform will power graphics, AI, handling and damage advancements that will immerse players in the racing experience like never before,” he added. “Like its predecessor, GRID 2 will put the sheer thrill and adrenaline rush of the race at the heart of the experience. It’s what we call Total Race Day Immersion.”

GRID 2 is due out in 2013

The first installment of GRID was pretty amazing but the only thing about Codemasters -racing games is that they get pretty repetitive even though they are amazing the first days or max a week of play. But I hope there will be enough of variety to keep the gameplay fresh and interesting  :ajaja:

2013 is gonna be an awesome year because Rome 2 Total War is going to be released and then GRID 2.. seems like I have to buy a new computer after all, didn't think I would need a new one anymore but only because of R2TW I have to get a new one for it to play properly
