« on: June 29, 2012, 12:05:30 PM »
Felt a bit bored, so decided to make this fun topic. What's your dream specs guys? If you have one, post it here :cc_detective:

Btw, can anyone tell me the best GFX card for NVIDIA and Radeon + compare?

So awesome that it can run anything without ever having a single problem and everything looks super good and is easy to customize.

Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 570 732MHZ 1280MB 3.8GHZ GDDR5 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Mini HDMI
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K Quad Core Unlocked Hyperthreading Processor LGA1155 3.4GHZ Sandy Bridge 8MB
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) P67 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E 2PCI SLI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3 Motherboard
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline Frostbyte 8GB 2X4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 C9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit

Runs Skyrim maxed out at smooth 60 fps (1600x900, it stutters a bit at my native, 1920x1080, resolution, but I honestly don't see the difference in detail), as well as BF3 at Ultra on single player (haven't tried MP yet)
I honestly wouldn't want anything more at this point.

Haven't done any OC'ing either.

If I had all this money, this would be the build:

i7 3960x (probably would do a beast oc, since this one handles it like a man)
Asus Sabertooh z77
4x GTX690
Corsair Dominator Series, 32GB of those beasts
2x OCZ VTX4 SSD's
A standard Barracuda 1~2TB to store stuff

Corsair H80
Bigwater 720 system

That would be it

Edit: I also would make a case myself

I'm not an informatic guy, but if I'd like one that can run ATLEAST saivc 30 fps normally and record on it with high res with no problems. And if it's possible make run SA too.

Just look at the most expensive card from each manufacturer.
Currently the GeForce 680's main competition is Radeon HD 7970 and the GeForce 690 which is two 680's built into a single card that's 10% larger than the 680 and it has no competition since AMD/ATi are fucking useless at multi-GPU production and that's even before I start to mention the drivers... ugh... just get a nVIDIA card.

Anyway I suppose the rig I'm building these days are my dream specs as I gave no concern to my budget, just the performance I'm looking for and in case you're wondering it ended up costing 7000USD/5500EUR.
I debated whether I should pick a stronger CPU but I don't see myself need that at this point in time plus
with this setup I can OC a bit should I need it too.

Processor: Intel i7 3930K 6Core Socket 2011

RAM: Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 1866MHz 32GB CL9 iXMP
