Yeah it's definitely epic. Ubisofts CEO also confirmed it's for the current gen (Xbox, PS3, PC), so you might wanna change the thread title.

I do know its for current-gen, that doesn't change the fact its next generation graphics, this obviously doesn't belong to today's generation of graphics.

This + I don't know if the actual game is going to be so much fun. I'd rather see others playing it perfectly like this guy so it's almost like a movie.

Though I just want to throw this out there, this gives me the vibe of that sort of game that looks way too super good they show a demo of it then its gone with the wind. I truly hope this is not the end of it...

Could be another dead island, amazing idea, one company gives up on it, another company takes over, release an awesome trailer, finish off the game, and it ends up being average at best  <_<

Or much better, it gets abandoned by the publisher when the game is nearly done (True Crime Hongkong) another one takes up on it, rethinks the ideas and puts a new brand on it not destroying the initial game probably making it better (Sleeping Dogs) ;)

I do believe PCs are capable of this game, very easily. But I can't see it running on current-generation consoles....
The fact that it's developed for the current generation of consoles actually worries me. I highly doubt that we'll get to play it with the same appearance as they showed. Today's consoles will not be able to cope with such graphics (can the 360 even handle dx11?) and because of that they'll have to limit their graphics to the consoles making the experience for us PC-gamers more limited aswell. I'm not really a graphics-fag but the graphics are usually important when it comes to experiencing open worlds and in this game the atmosphere seems to play a huge role (the rain for example).

I doubt they'll tone down the visuals, not on PC... they seem to be at the core of the game to the point it affects the gameplay so much, its not only the overall visuals but the highly fluid animations and the physics are terrific. R* was limited by consoles when making Max Payne 3, they still made the HQ version of Max Payne 3 for PC and that coming out of R* was quite an accomplishment, a company that ruined its PC games for more than 8 years.

It all depends on how they're gonna handle it. If they'll make a port for PC out of the console version, then there's no doubt it's gonna lose a lot of quality. If, however, they're making separate versions of the game, it's gonna exceed its possibilities.

I feel quite saddened to see that people refuse to make good gameplay anymore and instead focuses entirely on graphics and visuals. I mean, to me the graphics sure do look great (well, some quite major flaws such as that asian guy he talked to looked... dead. Those facial expressions he made as well as his slowmotion mouth is something I've only ever seen once, and that guy had ADHD.)

Maybe it's just me, but I think the whole gaming revolution took an incredibly bad turn once they started using games as graphical experiments rather than them being enjoyable games for you to find your own ways to win them. (Example, when he beats that guard. He pressed 1 button and the guy hits 4-5 times... I'd much rather have a game system where you could hit differently and it'd be up to you to find out how to beat this guy the best. E.g. this certain guard was going to alert the other guards, so a full frontal sideswing to his throat would be the best way to neutralize that. But nope, press 1 button and you're done)

I've always preferred gameplay over graphics, and at least to me I have not enjoyed any new games that are experimenting at all with graphics. The newest game I actually played was Portal 2, and I mean come on, that game has quite bad graphics even for today's standards. I LOVE THAT. Maybe I am just being cynical, I don't know, but I honestly don't remember liking any modern games before that.

I agree with you a lot Gavran but a good sign nowadays is how quickly indie studios are developing. Just look at games like Minecraft, Amnesia or Limbo. I honestly think gaming has focused a bit too much on graphics but it'll soon change. Graphics and physics in games have always tried to be realistic and we're soon at the stage where graphics can't evolve more which means focus will be on gameplay since the engines themselves will be cheaper and in need of less job.

I apologize if my post is a bit strangely structured but in my defense, it's 3am and I'm writing this on my phone.
