Horror movies in france?
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:26:07 PM »
So I recently saw these 3 movies
(every sunday morning one, guess why):

- "Martyrs"
- "High Tension" ("Haute tension" seems to be the original name?)
- "Inside"

And after reading several articles about the films, I found out that you are allowed to watch them in cinemas in france when you are 16 or older? wtf?
tbh I cant really believe it, as far as I know they arent even allowed on DVD in germany and several other european countries? I would like to know more about the restrictions of kinds of these movies (horror, slasher) in france(maybe also other countries? idk), because they are really, really intense, & watching them in a cinema would probably kill me

You're acting as if horror movies are on the same level as snuff films. They're just movies.
Anyways, I don't live in France, so I can't tell you, but if it's true, I really don't see the big deal there.

16+ is just for gore, rude, horrifying, extreme, erotic movies.
18+ is for porn, mental movies.

To make it simple, else just go on the Audiovisual Superior Council page (Conseil SupĂ©rieur de l'Audiovisuel) but I guess you won't get a little thing since all you know in french is "omlette du fromage" with the spelling mistake right ?  :cc_detective:

Hi valu, pls pm a stream where you found Inside because I never found a working stream when I searched for it.

Also check out:

Fucking love french gore/horror movies. Now to be honest I ain't even scared or shocked by them anymore because I've watched shitloads of horror movies already.

Also check out this Japanese Movie:

This is one of the most "shocking" gore movies I saw because it is pretty damn realistic and you feel the woman's fear. I would panic in such a situation. I watched this together with my now 18 year old step brother and a 15 year old girl and I was the one being most hyped which kinda wonders me due to my huge amount of watching movies like that:

Also a very disturbing and strange movie from an austrian production (there is also a hollywood usa production remake existing):

A movie is a movie and that's how france probably sees it. Doesn't matter how much violence is depicted.
Germany is different in this case because most of the politicians are fucking hypocrites when they debate about violence in movies and games.
Protect the children bla bla bla...
