None.I asked someone really special to us to give his vote.YEY FOR FRANCO
Well here we go:Phamus:Trailer: Really enjoyed the idea you wanted to create here, but this trailer is just random for me. The only thing that was in fact related to the final video was the name at the end. Besides that, some nice angles and cuts, loved the sound effects and the music used. Disliked a bit of the camera shake near the end with the glass breaking soundfx, didn't look very well done and ruined the end of a well produced trailer imo.Entry: I have to agree with some of the judges, by saying these quotes are cliche(ish), but I personally love these kind of introductions, they were well timed so I could read them all, so it was a good build up, specially for a Best Of video. The first part was lovely, great fresh looking fx'ing, amazing colors and decent angles. This showed a great taste and good variety. The videogame'like menu was a good choice although it made me think at first: "Oh no, not a videogame menu in a ET finale..." But you made it work REALLY nice, good job, the flow was good, loved you skipping the other editors, the variety of options and the good sound fx'ing rly sold the feeling. I did not enjoy the Calm part as much as I thought I would... Maybe you could've worked with some better angles on this part, as it is the key aspect you can work on when trying calm editings, but it did look good. The ending was a bit rushed but very well done again, with some nice choices regarding fx'ing and angles. The final message is nice (and in portuguese fuck yeah), but also cliche(ish), and these ones I didn't like. But it's not my job to judge this, they were again presented very nicely and well timed.Overall I gotta comment on the epic sync you managed to pull out on this entry, every single effect looks like it had a lot of effort put on them so great job man!Darkshadow:Trailer: Oh well, gotta say that this was way more well executed then Phamus' trailer, but the idea here wasn't fit for a trailer, I wanted to be teased for the video, and what I got was a big chunk of the video itself, with complete stunts, that even greatly presented didn't match the feeling of a good trailer. It started amazingly with that great desaturated look, with the cops surrounding CJ, the NRG being thrown for him and a good relation to the intro of the video itself, yay for Death Eaters (if that was your intention, if not, disregard... haha) But in the final video the CJ went off in a Lost'like smoke and didn't use the NRG that was thrown for him at the trailer so... Okay, let's move on to the Entry.Entry: Great intro, loved the well done fx'ing and the correlation to the Trailer. Great start with some great ideas on that soundtrack, that even though is not my particular taste, worked well. Going through to the fast paced eletronic'ish beat, some epic sync, like Phamus. It started to get a bit repetitive right by when you finished this part so thumbs up for right timing. The calm part is what made this video better in my opinion. It was amazing man, loved the angles used, great looking colors and what's up with these nice particles? What a great touch, it made this calm part even better! Thumbs down for sudden finish... When I see a good video finishing, I know it's almost there, reaching its climax. Couldn't believe you jumped to the credits so abruptly... Credits were simple as simple can be, rolling text, not atractive at all but effective. Overall this was a great video, with some nice variety of effects and great ideas that were well presented and performed, but the end of the video pushed it down a little bit. After watching both entries, and if agree'd by the contestants, I present my vote to this epic SA Editing Tournament Finale. I gotta congratulate both of the finalists, that made some epic work, specially considering the short deadlines. Appreciated it even more that they were some new faces in editing for me, which brought a great fresh feeling to the videos. For the Intros I think it was a Tie between a better idea from phamus compared to a better execution by Darkshadow. It comes down to the final videos: I belive that the overall outcome from Darkshadow was better then Phamus' video, specially on the calm atmosphere, in which Darkshadow's work outstood the most for me. So my final vote for the winner of '12 SA Editing Tournament Finals is:Darkshadow
