Weird pixels problem
« on: March 31, 2012, 03:12:46 PM »
I've got a weird problem. My screen just makes some green stripes and I have no idea what's that about. It first occured 2 days ago but when I've done system restore it was fixed. Then it happened again and system restore wouldn't help anymore. I've formatted my HDD. I can't install newest Nvidia drivers for some reason. Might it be caused of that? I also can't change to 75 Hz, the option is simply unavailable when I try it in screen settings. Halp!  :( My GFX card is NVidia 8800GT. The pixel stripes are gone on some certain colors like on GTAS background, and when they are visible they just mess up original color (they are not always green).

Here's a screen of it, the pixel stripes are always at the same places, they dont move.

:sleep:Well it's good news that you can take a screenshot of it, means that your actual screen is just fine. Not having drivers is a good bet, judging by the fact XP is outdated, also why are you using XP? use Windows 7, its built on the code of XP and it runs way better.

I don't really wanna switch the OS. Is there anything to get the newest to work? Or shall I install some older version of them? The pixels are also at the launch of computer.
//The newest drivers installation went successful this time but at the system restart windows doesn't load so I had to do system restore and I'm still without proper drivers I believe.

I baked my card in the oven (yes, it's not a joke) and it works now. No more artifacts that would annoy me! :D
