Couldn't agree any more. I thought the most touching part was where Ushio started crying because she lost her toy, because it was the first thing Tomoya gave her.

Also, did you figure out what the alternate world was?

The times I cried the most was when they showed they said bye to the picture of Nagisa after she had died, and when the shot when the door closed it looked like she was alive for a second.
though I pretty much cried through episode 19 - 22.

As the for the alternate world: It was one of the alternate worlds that Kotomi was talking about, and during one of the scenes from the alternate world the girl says that the floating lights are feelings, wishes or something like that right. So basically I think that when Tomoya got that light in his heart when his father left something happened and his feelings/wish was recognized and was granted, which allowed Nagisa to survive and all of that.

That's at least what I got out of it, I'd be open to other interpretations as well as it was quite mysterious

Even though it's an interpretation, I think it's true. Also, according to some people (and if you think about it, it makes sense), the small girl is Ushio and the doll is Tomoya.

I watched the first episode some time ago, but I was tired and didn't really understand much. And then I started watching something else and I haven't touched it again. Might just watch that one next, as I have no clue on what to watch next

I finished watching Ergo Proxy a few days ago, to be honest I didn't liked it that much, it started strong but after 10 episodes it became boring and the last episodes felt very rushed. I also hate that there was no character development at all, it's like the creators only cared about the plot, all characters were unlikeable and pointless for me.
