Alan Wake (PC)
« on: February 28, 2012, 07:25:02 AM »
I highly recommend that game, amazing story, terrific mood and one of the most gorgeous games I've ever seen. It's a game about darkness and light and that epic look you imagine from those words combined is exactly what the game delivers, with also a very twisted story that never failed to keep me excited :ajaja:

Simply this has Max Payne vibes to it since its from the same writer/developers, but way more psychological. Holds your attention tight and never gets cold.

Alan Wake PC - Steam Launch Trailer

Also, finally for PC.

When I first saw the trailer for this back when it was announced for consoles I thought it looked amazing, really like playing an A+ movie. But the reviews were mediocre for it so I decided not to pay full price. Thanks for reminding me though, I might check it out now.

My bad, only really read Eurogamers and 1UP's review and decided from that I didn't need to read more. :P all the more reason to check into it again I guess.

I saw a review of this game like in 2009 or something when it was first introduced, it took a long time to get it released. Looks awesome but my PC is what it is. Did it take a year to get it released on PC? Atleast half a year  :ajaja:

Bought it for xbox back when it was released, played some of it. but for some reason I didn't play it to the finish, I guess it didn't drag me in as well as I had hoped. Great atmosphere to the game though.

Yeah it took a whole year for it to get released and half a year to be made for PC, mainly because Microsoft rejected at first.

I've completed the game on the 360 twice and I want to play it again. Download or purchase, I don't care. Just play this game. It's worth it.

Another fan here!

All the talk about the XBLA/sequel towards the end of last year reminded me that it existed, and most importantly, reminded me that it was made by Remedy. So I snapped up a surprisingly-cheap copy of the limited edition around Christmas and been playing and loving it since. Really fantastic game.

The similarities/nods to the Max Payne games are just icing on top (the whole tv shows aspect, those manuscript pages...) - all this has made me want to replay those games too! Get my and Lords and Ladies and Address Unknown on, haha.

Mind fucking blown! Fantastic game, really dragged me into the story and I've been having great time playing it. Definitely gonna play the nightmare mode soon.

Can you recommend me any other games that are somewhat similar? I mean interesting plot and good gameplay. (I've already played Max Payne and Max Payne 2).  :P
