Tony Hawk 4 is where it all ended. 2,3,4 were epic. They are among like 10 games I have installed on my PC.

this^ also agreed with all of you guys, imo THPS3 and THUG2-4 had the best music ever, I still don't know why does the last games were quite crappy, or I'm just with an old school feeling.

I can't imagine someone who love all THPS that were released on PC and hate P8.

I played all of them on console (First 3 on a PS1) and the rest on Gamecube. Then they declined the Gamecube and the games got shittier anyway :(

Bought the first two, really liked the first one, second one was already meh. After that i played other releases at friends places but the endless (and extremely easy to pull off) combo's ruined it for me.

Few years later I played EA's Skate for a while, liked it more because it had a more realistic feel, also some multi-player stuff was fun. Still, TH1 was the coolast, Andrew Reynolds ftw.

Once you got to THUG, things went from being simple, enjoyable and fun to play to a more convoluted, awkward mess. Trick modifiers, spine transfers, hip transfers, running around on foot, driving cars - none of that shit was necessary. I understand that games have to top their predecessors to some extent, but the Tony Hawk franchise just wound up becoming desperate. The story for THUG was pretty much pointless and didn't serve the game in any way.

Just give me some nice locations, some nice challenges and a nice catalog of professional skaters to pick from - that's plenty. Throwing in some half-ass story just smacked of trying too hard to fit into a genre of some kind. The one thing that I did like about THUG was the expert challenges after you'd finished the game. It gave it a little more longevity and some of those challenges kicked your ass.
