If you do that then your text and stuff will all be colour corrected too . When I used Vegas I would do it by layer if I wanted to apply the same to every clip (you use adjustment layers in other programs just like AE), but sometimes there's different lighting and such in each clip so I'd adjust for each one.

EDIT: By the some of you guys need to start using far less layers, you'd make it so much easier for yourself to keep track of what's going on. You don't need 30+ layers for the things people have been doing in GTA videos . I can't imagine the most complicated edit I've seen on GTAS needing more than about 12 layers, although it always depends.
