It's great, loving it so far. There is the often buggy part now and then but I have good faith it will be fixed by DICE. Can't wait to play a bigger map than Metro though, but this'll satisfy me till the release.

I agree about the bugs but I guess seeing bugs in a beta is a good thing since they'll fix it alot faster. About the maps... Wake Island, Strike at the ol'e Kark'... Battlefield 2 memories...

Just tried the beta for about 10 minutes. Had very low expectations, and it turned out even worse than I expected.
I guess Battlefield is just not the kind of game for me. Hated BC2 as well.

just got 12 - 4, I'm totally stoked  Never played battlefield before some days ago, bought bad company 2, and I pretty much hated it, so Slow fucking homo spawn killing with a chopper and all that shit. ( I played it again with some people and it was more fun then. So bc2 is a team game) But BF3 is more one player friendly (at least this map) I like that it's fast paced and pretty balanced (I know it's the beta)
I'm totally gonna get this, probably pre-ordering it just so I can get it pretty early :3

Caspian border servers are up during this weekend, but beware - the majority of the gamers experience HORRIBLE lag, rubberbanding and glitches that completely takes the Battlefield feeling away. I will definitely buy BF3, but I must say I expected way more... (Yes, I know it's a beta and that they always are glitchy)

I played it and most of the people who played it haven't experienced lag from what I can tell, but yeah the game in Rush was buggy as hell until they fixed the biggest issues. It's more or less fine now, although still buggier than I'd expect for a beta, feels close to what the alpha felt like.

The lag issues are because the Beta is mostly used to fix any server/connection issues. They are still trying to fix the netcode and they use the Beta to figure out what to improve.

As for Caspian Border related issues, it's because basically every BF3 player is trying to get into one of those servers now even if they are full. Spamming the connect button causes overload trouble, hence the lag. DICE promised more and more servers that play Caspian Border to come online during the weekend, so I guess by Sunday most lag issues will be resolved.

I had some lag issues at first but, like the 4th server I joined was ok. The only fucking problem was that 60% of my team is just standing there waiting for jets so I have to spawn all the way back there because I can't capture any objectives because my team either lays on top of the hill sniping or waits for jets. It's really annoying.

And that map was huge, I hope it's the biggest one. It was good for a sniper map, but I can't see myself running around with an automatic and getting a good score. Because I suck at the game obviously, but oh well
