DDX recommended me to listen to the album some time ago and I love it. I also adore the soundtrack from Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, especially this song:

Killah Priest - From Then Till Now

rap instrumental

You don't have to be a specialist to have an opinion :P I like both Encore and The Eminem Show (they're the only ones I remember), and I think they're both critically acclaimed albums. I guess I should re-listen to Marshall Mathers LP as it's gotten good reviews from both users and reviewers at metacritic (oh yes, I am a slave to metacritic mwaha)

Thanks for getting this thread back in action guys, I had already gotten my hands on most of the ones mentioned before my bump, so now I have some more to look forward to

Eminem is a lyrical genius (especially related to his older stuff, like heard on albums: "Infinite" and "The Marshall Mathers LP"). He didn't stray much away from his style, after all that has happened to him during his life he finally made it and he's a happy person now (well, I suppose he is). He did some commercial stuff here and there but his lyrical capabilities are still at level.
As Red said:

Eminem has a number of great songs, actually.

This one is a masterpiece.

Update:
The master of all flows, the genuinely supreme when it comes to lyrical creativity, dirty dog Redman:

A fucking legend.

Next on the list is fellow lyrical genius and walking dictionary (he used to read the dictionary when he was a kid, to obviously enrich his word palette in hope of succeeding in life as a rapper, which he did), Eminem:

A group which particularly caught my attention in these last few months is Little Brother, whose members were: producer 9th wonder (one of the main reasons that got me into them), and rappers Phonte and Big Pooh (both s(l)ick).

Emerging from the depths of the West Coast, we have the G-funk specialist, DJ Quik:

Another genius when it comes to tearing up mics (mostly his former days, the dude was, and, well, still is, mad),  the notorious 50 Cent:

50 Cent - Power Of The Dollar

One of the most underrated rappers of all time, Cormega, his special style and delivering on hot beats is what I like about him most:

Some philly realness, straight from one of the worlds most prominent hip hop acts of all time:

And last but not least, one of the best rhyming duo out there up to date, known for not sticking to the 16 bars "rule", instead, sticking to the say-everything-until-you-prove-your-point "rule", Binary Star:

Enjoy your listening.
