vegas 8.1 - cant add clips to video track

i installed windows 7 and then vegas and stuff, but for some reasion i cant import clips/vids in the video track, i tried to download K-Lite Codec Pack 7.1.0 the FULL version, and it didnt work, so please help me out or i will never be able to render a damn video

Just download the same music from other link or other musicweb or something like that  and that's all ,

Have you tried different types of videos? Is it only videos, can you add pics/music?

pics, music(most of them) work fine, only videos, tried different ones too
