High cpu usage by svchost.exe
« on: February 17, 2011, 06:34:00 AM »

My processor is almost always at 100% and I've got absolutely no idea what to do.  :| I'm probably going to get a new PC by the end of this month, but till then I can't stand all the lag and slow operating. :|

I tried. Some of them tell me to turn my automatic updates on, but I can't, since my Windows version isn't original...

Enable it to download the updates but not install them, then look up Windows Genuine and things like that and uncheck them or you can uncheck all and just install the important ones(service packs, etc).
Used to do this back in the day on windows 98, have also worked perfectly on XP and 7, at least for me. none of them were "original".

It's a virus, and the reason you have it is because you're using pirated windows. The way to fix this is re-install with a clean copy.

So? You can get the virus either way . However, if you have a pirated version of Windows it's highly likely to come with things like this, check this out if you don't believe one exists.

EDIT: This is generally what the virus is. Why do you think it uses a high CPU usage? It all happens for a reason, this is the most common reason why if not the only reason why, and if the problem exists on a pirated windows it's just obvious.

Why do you think there are so many pirated copies of Windows around ? because everyone is being nice ?. In some cases yes but most of the time people just attach something like a virus or a botnet to it. A botnet would slow down the whole computer and cause high cpu usage.

Its just not worth getting a pirated copy. Cheap skates  :P

Somebody on this forum possesses common sense... holy shit. And on top of that when people are torrenting, even if a download starts out clean, because it's file sharing anybody can easily seed out a virus into the network. Many many torrents install crimeware and such on your computers without you knowing about it; these hackers aren't idiots, they know people are stupid enough to download all this shit. Anybody who pirates software frequently is bound to have tons of things like this (keyloggers, etc). Many viruses are also time-based, so they can install alongside software inconspicuously and activate later on. Crazy Trainer is a good example of that, a trainer detected as a trojan horse virus in almost every form of AV software. However, because the creator has a good reputation for making the software, people say it's a false positive. These guys have people wrapped around their little fingers, he even calles himself 'CrazyVirus', they get a kick out of 'trolling' as forum nerds might say. I haven't had that trainer installed for months now, thank god :P

Aye, but that virus came directly from the creator of the mod, not me. I didn't know it was in the folder until I installed the latest version of my AV on my new computer ;)
