Deafheaven - Sunbather

Great production. Calling this black metal might piss some hardcore people off (Neotec?) but I think some parts are pure black metal but with a slightly more melodic approach. Really like this album.

This is my AOTYSF, especially the opener 'Dream house' is one of the most emotionally draining songs I have heard this year.

I might be with you on that, I haven't listened to it enough yet. The album feels very complete which I like, from the artwork and concept to production and mixing.

Genre: hip hop, full w/ instrumentals and some guest features.

Have to say 9/10, it's a masterpiece and sounds great. i can listen to it front to back without a complaint. great atmosphere to it. blueprint even pops up on this, and with a new soul position album coming out ( http://printmatic.net/a-major-news-update-from-blueprint/ ) i'm super stoked now.

Haven't listened to full thing yet or very intently since I've been into an rjd2/printmatic phase recently, but sounds great so far.

It has great tracks on it, but utlimately I felt a little dissapointed by it tbh. I guess hearing NOTB, Nosetalgia and King Push beforehand spoiled the experience of the album as a whole to me.

Madlib is THE GREATEST EVER (after Redman). This is just a collection of some previously unreleased tracks and originals, and it still kicks more ass than some 'serious' albums which are being released.
