its like putting a Ferrari engine in a Honda Civic

But you can utilize the power from the engine in a civic even if it is ridiculous, but you couldn't use the power of a high end card with his chip so really its nothing like that at all.

I'm pleased with my HD 5770 as well, but it's quite old now I think. Shouldn't there be up-to-date cards that have better performance for the same price? Or maybe the 5770 is very cheap know, haven't looked into it. (And if that is the case, maybe I should buy one and cross fire that bitch. )

With a 2.2ghz dual core, you can choose something like a HD5670 It will be really better than your old card, and for a low price =) with a better card, you will risk to be "cpu limited"  . I don't know if it's better for this processor to take a 5750, but you can try too
With nvidia, i'm not sure, but you can maybe choose a GT430 (this name is in french, not sure if it's 430GT in english ^^') or a GTS450, but it looks a bit too high.

That's probably why almost 100% of new games has some kind of incompability when using ATi stuff. Not even to mention MBL


Anyway, a 4790 would be enough for your computer I'd say
