Graphic card
« on: January 25, 2011, 12:27:39 PM »
Hello guys,
My computer's card graphic died 1 or 2 months ago, it was a Geforce 8600 GS (shitty model not even listed on Nvidia site). I plan on buying a Radeon HD 4650 to be able to stunt again, and increase at the same time it's capacity.

I'm just wondering if it will fit into it. I've been out of the loop for a while in terms of computer hardware so I'm asking  you guys if there won't be any troubles.

Computer specs are (by memory) :

Intel E4500 Core 2 duo
2,2 ghz
Geforce 8600 gs
Vista family edition

Feel free to suggest any other cards, just need a cheap but decent one  :cc_detective:

ATI  :ajaja:

I myself have the Radeo HD 5670, even though some say it is a low end card I still run IV on like 50-60 FPS with all settings on high (except shadows ofcourse, they are damn buggy without a patch). It isn't really expensive either, perfect for me  :)

ATI. It's more preferable and for me it's more reliable. I started with a budget build PC 5 months ago, with me purchasing the ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR2 for £40. I got 90FPS in GTA SA on max settings.
1 month ago I upgraded to the Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 and I'm getting a hell of a lot more. I don't know to be exact because I've not been on in a while.
Radeon HD5770 is perfect for all gaming. Don't bother with that GT400/500 crap, it's not worth it for the price.

My PC specs are:
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB HDD
AMD Athlon II x4 635 @2.9Ghz (Over clockable to approx. 3.5Ghz)
ATI Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5.

It's totally worth getting the 5770, mine was only £100. In the future I'm going to crossfire the 5770 :)

Radeon HD 4650 should be fine.. no need to buy a overpriced video card.. unless you have a lot of money and what not.

ATI only gave you trouble because you had the 4670 which is infact a low-end card.

Ontopic: Considering you're getting something just to be able to stunt, then get something like an ATI 5770.
Nvidia is pretty equal to ATI but more expensive. I'd say that's a waste unless you're getting a GTX580 which currently has the best benchmarks.

Also i think it is worth pushing to get a 5770 because its future poof. Meaning you shouldn't have to upgrade to a new card any time soon.

Fine, I'll order that 5770. I just need it for GTA anyway, I don't play anything anymore but it might make me start SA once again if I get decent results haha

Fuck ATi. Everytime I go to search for a review it says only bad stuff and I've always had bad experiences with it.
