Sony Vegas lagg ?
« on: January 09, 2011, 03:39:05 AM »

I have never really thought about it before but the preview video... thing in vegas always seems to lagg for me which makes it really hard to sync effects etc. I have Sony Vegas 9 64-bit and i just wondered if others have the same problem or know a fix for it because it makes it incredible hard to edit.

I think my PC spec is fine and not the problem, I have;

i5 750
ATI 5770
4GB 1600MHz RAM
Windows 7 64-bit

I'm guessing it's the ram as that's the problem I had with Vegas 9 (I also had 4gb). Either get vegas 8 or 10, 9 sucks with all its bugs and crashes anyway.

Turn down preview quality to draft.

Well yea either lower the preview settings or use RAM preview. Mark up the wanted scene and hit Shift + B on your keyboard. It'll quickly render it on your RAM without creating any file, so the preview is just smooth.

Ok thanks alot, il try it later.
I haven't had many problems with Vegas 9 tbh, but i probably will upgrade to 10 soon.
The project files won't be affected right ? i mean i can open projects saved with vegas 9 in 10 ?

Nah what you're all saying is bullshet, my solution is the best.

Go to edit > preferences, stay on the tab 'general' and find the box with the desired amount of MB you want to use off your RAM. For me 1024 mb worked.

^You're shenanigans. Increasing the "Dynamic RAM Preview max" will give you a longer RAM Preview.

Either way, RAM Previewing or turning down the previewing quality seems to be the ultimate option, unless you're willing to spend money on better hardware.
