Blast From The Past: Digging Up The Corpses
« on: December 28, 2010, 04:25:44 PM »
This week's blast from the past was selected and written by Daffy

Digging Up The Corpses was released at a time in stunting history where most of the methods we know of today had yet to be discovered and the potential of the methods around were yet to be tapped into. It was a time where people thought there wasn't much left to do in Vice City and waited with anticipation for San Andreas to come out.

The video shattered the community's image of a fully explored game and is one of the reasons stunting kept evolving to the days where most of the methods we know of were discovered and thus giving us fresh spots to spend our spare time on today.

NightKnight is one of the biggest names through stunting history and I'd assume a lot of people who became part of the community after he left know who he is today due to the mark he left on it. He brought us the Dedicated and Dark Army's crew videos but Digging Up The Corpses is to me, without a doubt, the most important video he ever made.

The video was most likely the first stunting video ever to have a theme where the title, the music, the intro and even the stunts seem fit and flow together as one, and I'd be hard pressed to this date to find a video that stays to it's given theme better.

Notable stunts were: Drop to grind at North Point Mall, the megaspin (that was a world record for a long time), the Sanchez natural bump to the ring, the downtown stoppie to grind, the downtown tankbump and of course the bigbang double backflip gap.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Digging up the Corpses (HD)

"The best ever man, havent seen anything like it 12/10" - Valikai

"I will use this video to keep me inspired now to keep on stunting.  I know it's old, Knight, but that doesn't mean that it's not good anymore - who made up that stupid rule?" - Kingjad

"good god man, that was amazing. Im at a loss for words...5/5, 10/10 150% w/e man digging up the corpses is GODLIKE" - MisguidedAngel

"Original content, sharp editing, ear-drum shattering music - what more can be said? Just when you think all has been said and done in regards to Vice City stunting, someone comes along and slaps you in the face with a drop to stoppie to grind...awesome job. " - Kaneda

I did this one since m3rrix couldn't last week, hope you don't mind.

Wonderful video, remember that 360 grab thing was the highlight for me the first time I saw this. Good post Daffy, though I disagree with the part about hardly any videos following their themes as well as this one. Also, not to be a bitch, you should really get your of's and off's straight lol. From now on just write of as default as that's the more common one.

I liked the old school spins and stuff mixed with the roofs and grinds(and the great ring landing). and the outro was awesome.

lol I was quoted :P don't think I was around when vid was released. Still a quality production though, music not my usual taste but everything was perfect for this vid. Great energy to it.

This was awesome, videos like these inspire me, even if they are 5/6? years old.
