When I want to run the trial nothing happens, it's not opened. when I try opening it it gives me the licence/trial bullshit again

well i installed both of the programs but it's laggy as bad as the fraps. Maybe it's because of my OLD PC it's properties are (i also had alot of free space so this won't be a problem too)

512 ram
258 video card
1.61 GHz

i don't know is this the problem

does it lag even when recording from a demo file?

what do u mean from a DEMO file ? trail version ? cause the version i Downlaoded was trail

Go to the controls list in half life, then go to advanced and 'enable developer console'. Press the console button, and type 'record DEMONAME' to record a 'demo' of the game (a replay). This can last for an infinite amount of time, and causes little to no lag. When you want to finish recording, type 'stop'. Then, you will find your demos in the 'hl' folder of half life, which can then be recorded with whatever you want, but generally exported uncompressed out of the game as 'TIFF' frame files to be merged with VirtualDub later
