Problem..
« on: December 18, 2010, 02:44:28 PM »
I've had a wierd problem on my computer for awhile now. It's been crashing if I stress it. Even from the smallest thing. When it crashes, my screen is filled with small blue/green squares and then the screen goes black but the computer is still on. I'm thinking this might be a GPU issue or some serious virus.

My shit..

Antec Earthwatts 500w
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66ghz
Sapphire Radeon HD4890 1gb Vapor-x
Corsair 2gb 800mhz
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Most likely the video card, I'm experiencing something similar with my computer. Open up your computer and make sure it's properly connected to your motherboard and output. Also keep track of the temperature, make sure you have a good airflow to prevent overheating (I doubt overheating is the cause for your problem, but it may be a factor).

Sounds like a GPU issue yea...if you still got warranty on the card you might want to try to return it. Otherwise try putting it in the oven for about 5 minutes

I SWEAR TO GOD KM

STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO PUT THINGS IN OVENS

50c at idle wouldn't be unusual, try running the computer with the case open and a huge fan blowing on it

It's a vital part of KM's heritage to put things into ovens.  :euro:
