Render problem
« on: November 19, 2010, 02:06:02 PM »
Uhm, I've been trying to render doom for a couple of days, and every time it freezes or crashes in different places of the video.

I'm getting a sudden vegas shut-down, or a "vegas stopped responding" or it pop ups an error message.

Although, I was able to render both of the 2 parts before finishing it up and it was pretty much the same as the full one. Sadly I deleted them when trying to render the full one.

I'm not using un-usual plugins, just the pretty common ones.

Already tried rendering it to other drives btw.

C2Q Q6600

4GB DDR2
nForce 680i SLI

Thanks in advance

Edit1: Just got this debug report

It could be a faulty RAM chip or just a bug in Vegas. Here, check this out: http://www.updatexp.com/0xC0000005.html

First you should check your RAM with a memory test program, and If that doesn't yield anything you should just go ahead and contact Sony tech support. Hope you get it fixed mate.

Maybe try saving your work somewhere, uninstall your current sony vegas, and try reinstalling?
It could be something faulty with the files that sony vegas uses, so a reinstall may remedy
your problem, possibly.

it could be something very bizarre, When I was rendering the AVI for Purgatory it kept freezing and crashing, and i found it was due to a specific point where i had the CC and motion blur, apparently it dident like it, but Ive also had vegas do that same thing with just odd areas, with Monolith it kept freezing at a certain transition, i changed the transition, then changed it back, and it worked. But then it froze a billion times randomly, I literally tried to render that video at least 20 times.

It could also be your AVI plugin. Check CreativeCow forums.

Thanks for the answer TB, the thing is that I'm rendering straight to WMV. My HDD is pretty full and I can't find my backup one, which has like 100GB free. So, your suggestion would be to keep insisting till it render?

I don't think that's necessary, as I said in the first post, I was able to render Betas for both parts before going into the full one

I'd recommend you switch to Adobe Premiere Pro as soon as you've rendered your video out, Sony Vegas causes far too many problems to put up with. I'm switching as soon as I get my hard drive and render the hydra video out :P

Well, I refuse myself to switch to AP :P

I'd rather do as iCy, edit everything on AE. I had personal issues with Premiere :ninja:

edit: Just reached 30%

Seem to be the same problem that TB mentioned, seems to be crashing on parts that contain motion blur
