1st soz for the lengthy post im feeling chatty
Guys, thanks for all the comments bad or good thats ok, me.. im
gonna be feeling pos karma all day now. Much of the focus has been
on the editing, lets hear about the intro outro tracks by Nagual
i know he put in some extra extra overtime getting the intro done
could/read: have listened to outro many times over now all props
for that as not many vids get there own composer.
To answer recurring q's re: efx
@kr3mlin
The goal of warming efx were created with a combo of filters
similar to inspiring films like The Matrix used colour for ambiance.
The crunch of effects were:
2 different color gradients
Diffusion + additional blurring
Temperature correction
Contrast enhancement
Done in 16bit colorspace to combat the banding artifacts seen in the skyline
WMV compressor had other ideas regarding how the vid should
look though, some overly enthusiastic whites and
re-introduction of the nasty banding resurfaced although
quality is better than xvid imho.
Future vids ill prolly toy about with mp4 now that Apples
beautiful compressor is aval for us PC users.
@Calcos
Some things:
you may want to use transition efx a good idea is keep each
reps original duration intact and cascade layers.
Whilst doing the clip timeline hide stuff not required with
selection tool (trim).
for faster previews render any speed changed clips, drop'em
back into the main comp on a new layer overlapping the orig.
(disable original just incase).
1. do your synching
2. play with clip speed if called for (frame blending is nice)
3. render preview
4. repeat 1-3 until satisfied
Efx
Avoid speed problems (things can look great playing @5fps
but suky realtime)
Use a short clip for creation/testing and render for realtime previews.
This project used premiere for the main clip sync/positioning
/speed changes then aftereffects for the our errr efx
then
back to premiere for final.
Overall... pass tests over to mates for feedback, have a long
break then come back with a fresh perspective.
Ill be saving this topic as it seams fitting to keep the thoughts
and criticisims for the next big adventure wherever that might
take us.
