Green building for green screening
« on: August 27, 2010, 08:57:25 AM »
Does anyone by any chance have a green building ex. one of the studio buildings which could be used for green screening?
It's for VC.
Or if anyone could just make it green real quick and upload the txd's.
Thanks in advance!

What means green screening?

Green screening, also known as chroma keying is a type of masking (cutting out certain parts from a clip/replacing them) that masks out a color (most commonly used for blue & green colors, hence the name green screen) making everything that is in that color invisible, green screen is a very popular way of editing videos, which is used in almost every movie.
Basically let's say, if you wanted to make it seem like someone explodes, you'd just film that person in front of a green background (e.g a green wall), then use chroma keying to make that background invisible & replace it with an explosion.

tl;dr masking out a color.

I made a HUGE green box in VC a while ago, I'll see if I can find it and upload it for you :)

Also Rusch, I'd suggest making a new model for screening, all GTA models have pre lighting which is lighting effects on the model, they aren't perfectly green.

I know that, it wasn't even really meant to get public. Tack made some similar mod with a hangar in LV before, but nobody seemed to still have it. So I just painted those to have one. Decided to share later since serval people kept asking for. Also I masked roughly around the object I had and applied chroma keyer then to avoid the irregularity of darkness and light a bit more. Not 100% perfectly though, but worked out as I wanted with the given parameters in Vegas. :jajaja:

I just whipped up a smooth cube in max, created a col, txd and dff but I can't really be bothered importing it  <_<

If anyone here wants to import the model for me then I'll send it to you ASAP, if not then it'll be a few days

What I do is just make a billboard sign green, and moo map it in a box or w/e shape you want, that way you have flexibility in the size that you might need.
