I assume that you're giving this bike away 'cause you want some one to have it, some one who may not have a bike, or have an inferior one, in that case, you should put some effort in it, since you're trying to help, not every one wants to go through the trouble of getting something they might not even want. So please, do your part so people can actually appreciate your efforts.
