I've heard hundreds if not thousands of rumours, the one that keeps popping up is Vice City but that's prolly due to the fact that the gta games have gone from LC, VC, London for some reason, LC, VC, SA, LC, VC, LC, LC.

The most common one is LC but R* said they were done with LC so the next most obvious choice would be VC, not sure whether I'd like VC again.. Driver III was set in miami *partially* and really just utterly sucked..

Present day New Austin :P.

In my honest opinion, Vice City seems the most logical, and as much as a new location sounds great, i don;t think it will happen. I recall in the previous games hints as to the next location were always slipped into the radio stations. I'm not sure about VC but i know SA is mentioned in the radio multiple times.

Personally I'd like to see a setting outside of R*'s fictional 'US'. London, Japan or Hong Kong would be a nice change of pace.

Or even maybe 1970's Chicago.

Well, all cities in the Driver series were rather "dead".. I mean, there was not this life spark that is present in the GTA games imo, Rockstar has always done good when it comes to create an ambient and a city full of life and I don't see why it would end now
As some of you already said, Vice City would be the most logical location if they keep it in the same order, oh and in EFLC there is this new radio station called Vice City FM :P but I wonder whether it would be set in the 80's too or nowadays

Exactly why everyone thinks they'll go back to doing one of their previous settings, no other major American cities seem to have enough "life" and I really doubt we'll see any gta going outside the US any time soon, too many other games are doing that so it's not really a big deal.

Kan check out driver 74 or 70 something, true crime hong kong is coming out soon too

EDIT: Washington COULD maybe be done.. but it would be a pretty lame game me thinks.. too much like IV, chicago doesn't stand out enough from LA and NY :/ perhaps Seattle? it's kind of a unique city.. although still too close to NY :/

not really flatface, I can think of several; Pacific Northwest (Seattle and some woodland areas would own), Detroit, Washington DC  :euro: , Chicago...

edit; fucking what, are you a mindreader

An international setting would give license to new kinds of novelty vehicles - rickshaws, double-decker buses, etc. Change it up for the sake of the players. The last four entries, although fun to play, were essentially all the same (SA took some risky deviations that didn't exactly pay off, but it followed the same formula). Apart from the setting, I think the game's plot needs to change dramatically in order to liven up the franchise. Starting out a small-time crook and working your way up to criminal overlord (or whatever) is getting stale and leading to too much repetition. Maybe working the other side of the fence - being a cop.

I realise the title of the game suggests being a criminal, but I just get a little tired of the same old formula being rehashed ad nauseum. Reversing the roles would at least be an attempt at something different.

Then again...that might be a little too close to Driver's formula - and we all know how that went.

I'd like to see London revisited. Preferably with some cynical brit as the lead character. The pleasure I would get from ploughing a Rhino through a Pret A Manger...

From what I've heard the "final destination" will be in Europe
