CSS being updated
« on: May 16, 2010, 07:20:03 AM »
There's a CSS beta that our own AJ collins has the privilege of being a part of <_< lol

Valve and another studio are updating it to the same source engine as TF2 and changing some details of the game, adding achievements and yeah..

Just for those of you who don't already know :)

If you were to actually read, they state that the new source engine has a better netcode...

Correct. Orange box has "better" netcoding, but it's still shit. If you were to actually read, ofcourse. It doesn't help aswell that communities don't have a fucking clue how to configure source. So many morons still think rate should be capped at 25 or 30k, when these days connections can easily handle 100k rates.

EDIT:

There you go. A small list of everything wrong with source.

Fix the fucking netcode whilst they're adding all this UI bullshit.

they are acturly doing a great job.
they fixed the interpolate bug, net_graph shows the interpolate value, multicore rendering support, better graphix and a rofl bomb explosion.

the archievements will only attract new players, wich is a good thing aswell.

the scoreboard looks shit tho  :P

I'll believe it when I see it. Interpolate was still screwed in TF2 just to a lesser extent than in CS. Plus, HPE has to go beg Valve to allow changes to be implemented, doesn't seem a whole lot likely.

You know what I do? I enjoy playing the games and don't complain about their coding thinking my opinion matters.

My opinion is irrelevant. It's a fact Source netcode has been fucked for a long time. A fixed netcode would make the game a hell of a lot more enjoyable for me.

Thats from the beta? Pretty sick. Would certainly be tempted to play properly again if HPE pulls this off nicely. Game kinda loses it's magic when you get one deaged by invisible germans ; D
