Real Life Photography Competition Week 1
« on: April 15, 2010, 06:10:06 PM »
Simple, easy compeition.  Consider this a submission thread.  You'll have one week to enter one photo into competition (April 22).  After a week I will have the thread locked and start the voting thread.  It will be blind voting numbers based.

THEME:

Macro (Close Ups)

RULES:
  • Only one entry per person
  • Post images that are reasonable size for the forums.  (Provide a link to a higher res if you'd like, but this is not required)
  • Absolutely no post editing besides. (Color Correction, Contrast, & Minimal Cropping)
  • That means no computer generated effects or filters.  If you want a particular look, you have to set up your shooting environment for that look.
  • Vingnettting, Sepia, Black and White, Blurring are examples of unacceptable post editing
  • You can however still use these effects if your camera can do such things at the time of shooting.  Ex:  I can set my camera to black and white and even add different undertones to the blacks.  I would shoot that, but not take a picture and then desaturate it with Photoshop.
  • Also this should be a gimme, but I feel I should still mention it.  Pictures that you submit, you must have taken.  You can't grab an image off a website and just say it's yours.

If you'd like not to post your entry publicly, PM a link to the image and I will blindly post it in the voting thread when that time comes.

Again it will be blind voting, with voters picking their favorite top three, without knowing who did them.

Submission is open...NOW.

It's an okay shot Chris, but try to get a close up shot.  I know it must have been difficult to get the shot, but save it for an appropriate theme down the road.

Try to get a shot that follows the theme more.

Nice on Dogger.

Should have widened your aperture a little bit so you could get the leaves and all of the slug in focus, or adjust your focus so that more of the slug is clear, but it's still a very good pic.

And yes those are Macro shots.

FB would like to see you come up with something.  You always have good shots.

Payton. I don't really know how to wide aperture.
I think that my cam is too shity for "extras" like macro focus :)

Okay guys setting up a voting thread now.  Make sure you vote if you entered or any votes towards your picture won't count.
