I'm a bit reticent. The movie Resident Evil franchise has been somewhat bitter sweet. The first was passable (although not nearly as good as it could have been), the second was utter shite, and the third offered some redeeming qualities. Maybe it'd be better just to leave it at 3 and be done with it. I have a sneaking suspicion that this new installment will disappoint.

Yeah won't be going to the theater to see this. Once again a movie that seems to compensate the lack of plot with just throwing tons of effects in your face.

Paul Anderson has spoken with MTV News about his upcoming "movie" (I use that word very loosely here people) Resident Evil: Afterlife.
 
Of course most of you will know that this is the first time the franchise has gone 3D. I'm sure you'll also know what a filthy stain on the games these films are.
 
If you really need to know what the sorry excuse for a director had to say... well, here you go.
 
"My intention was to make this like T2 was to The Terminator," he said. "It's the same franchise, but it's bigger and it's improved and it's making a large conceptual leap."

"In terms of me coming back as a director, 3D was a big part of that. Avatar was a big influence on us."
