Anyway, by street names I assume you mean the area name? (The little green stuff that pops up in the bottom right corner)
If so I believe that's in the text file. And as far as I know there isn't a mod for it. But it wouldn't be hard to make if you had a text file editor.

Download the gxt editor and search through it till you find what you want OR find someone who knows how to edit the mapping files and remove them through there. *quicker if you know what you're doing but if you don't then it'll be harder for you*

Well its not possible to delete the whole thing but its possible to simple put nothing in...that's the way we removed the replay signs back in the days
