Thanks Cinemassacre for bringing this one to my attention. It's also known as the Turkish Star Wars, and it's fucking hysterical. Despite it's blatant theft of other material, it's atrociously lousy production, woeful acting and abysmal dialogue - it's the greatest unintentional comedy of all time.

EDIT: Just noticed that the posted image (which is for the 2011 version) borrows from a scene from Carpenter's version. That basically sums up the movie - it's not its own movie. It plays out so much like a remake, rather than a prequel.

Saw that sooner, never had heard of it before, it was a good bandit movie despite it's age. Redford used to look badly like Pitt
