Meh. It was a nice attempt to tie into the original (well...the remake) of John Carpenter's version, but it borrowed way too heavily from that one.

EDIT: Just noticed that the posted image (which is for the 2011 version) borrows from a scene from Carpenter's version. That basically sums up the movie - it's not its own movie. It plays out so much like a remake, rather than a prequel.
