Recording from Xbox 360
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:29:35 AM »
Now I have a PC in my room alongside my Xbox 360 and tv, I can reignite the desire to make some videos from my Xbox gaming. Question is, what to use - I was considering that thing called a Dazzle, but apparently there's issues with it working with Windows 7. I'd rather have a plug-in USB capture card than tinker about with the back of my PC, so any suggestions would be most welcome.

I use a Dazzle Platinum, with Pinnacle Studios to record my console shit. You also need: A/V Splitters and a double ended A/V Cable. You can get pretty nice quality with a Dazzle, but if you want OMFG HQ you can get HD PVR: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html

No fussed about HQ, and don't even wanna go near HD considering my telly's a wee small bugger lol.

I've been keeping an eye on this too: Blitzbox B1. Have heard a lot of poor things about Dazzle so will probably stay away from them. Sab, cheers for the link, but it'd be nice to know it worked OK with PAL stuff, your link was an American website and don't forget my setup may be different as it's UK shite.

Shakira, same for you to be honest, that Hauppage website had a cool USB Live2 thingy there, that was ONLY available on the US part of the website - shame as well as it sounded like it'd work wonders for me.Linky

Not looking to do amazing things, just nice and simple shit lol.

Like I said, Dazzle Platinum works on pretty much all things to my knowledge. I know kids from Scotland who do Cod4 montages with it. Also, AMphetimine is from the UK, and he used one for his cod4 vids. Btw, I have Vista and it's never had problems with it. If you'd like some examples of the quality and shit of the Dazzle, hit me up on msn John  :euro:

Shakira brainwashed me into getting a Dazzle. I may live to regret this.

Apparently, even for Windows 7 users like me, the Vista driver makes it work. It is fucked up, and Pinnacle should get the finger oot and make a proper normal Windows 7 driver.

This time tomorrow I hope to have it all set up and installed :)
