I've had a 'watch acclaimed movies rush' lately, so gonna write down my favorites amongst those I've seen the last few months:

-Spirited Away (Japanese surrealist anime)
-Princess Mononoke (Japanese surrealist anime)
-Waltz With Bashir (Lebanese animated drama)
-Up (American animated comedy)
-The Best of Youth (Italian drama)
-Still Walking (Japanese drama)
-Sideways (American comedy)
-4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days (Romanian drama)
-Ghost World (American comedy/drama)
-Children Underground (Romanian documentary on street-children)
-The Cove (American documentary on Japanese dolphin fishing)
-Murderball (American documentary on wheelchair rugby)

Hope some of you will check them out, it was worth my while anyway.

Those are two words :euro:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surrealist_films

Been watching a few of those kinda films lately. It listed Spirited Away as surrealist, so I figured Princess Mononoke should be considered to be the same genre, and it's anime, so surrealist anime why not
:P

I want to watch Princess Mononoke cause i've heard from everyone that's seen it, that it's fucking awesome. And i love Miyasaki's (or whatever) movies, even though some of them are for kids.

I don't get it why so many people like Avatar. I think it was pretty lame actually, boring story and flat characters. The effects wasn't anything impressive either IMO.

Anyways some of my favorite movies:
  • Goodfellas
  • Pulp Fiction
  • Clockwork Orange
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Brazil
  • Godfather
