Getting set up in IV
« on: January 13, 2010, 04:08:22 PM »
Ok so today i got IV finally completely downloaded and working, I could no doubt get myself totally set up within a day but i figured I'd make a topic here asking what i should download and use for stunting so that any other less experienced members/stunters who get IV have a guide to look at.

So far i know about the native trainer but i really REALLY don't like it because it's so clunky and it seems to of given me steed mod when i put on god mode so i think I'm gona talk to some modders and see if i can get a stunt specific trainer set up with the basic tools dannyes has and not all these other things.

Also I'd love some suggestions as to how i might get some higher FPS? i have a few ideas after reading through topics at gtaf but i can't use 1 main thing i was counting on due to the current patch, the patch doesn't work with a mod that lets me modify advanced parts of the game to remove extra un needed things.

You can use the "special godmode" in the native trainer and you can still fall off. And I guess you could change the keybinds so it functions a bit more like dannye's scm thingy. That's what I'm gonna do at least :P

Well I've PM'd the creator of the native trainer to see if he'd be willing to make a trimmed version of his trainer specifically for stunters with just the functions we need, haven't heard back yet.

PS: going through your page neon :P

Yeh a nice lite, stunt friendly native trainer would be nice. Maybe with some more weather options : >. For now native trainer is the best and as Eddeman said you have to use special godmode not the normal one. I have my .ini configured so theres less hassle, oh and while you're asking try and find out if theres a way to load positions with the same direction you were facing as that can be quite annoying :P

Well I've mucked around with  my draw distance which did nothing... i might have gotten an extra 0.5 fps after changing it from 1500 to 500 0_-

There are 2 other things i know of but one isn't compatable with the new patch so i gota wait for an update.. AND the magic.bat as far as i know copies all the IV files and i don't want to have a 2nd IV at 19 gb's on my PC 0_-

still trying stuff though. also i can't seem to find a ghost town mod, it would def help with FPS while stunting, help plox?

WAAAAREZ  :o ...

@topic: The next version of the Simple Native Trainer should definately NOT have the normal godmode (steedmod-ish thingy) It's impossible to spot if you have it on or not  :ninja:

I have a lot of tricks to get some fps increase.

Without them all, I had like 15-25 fps, with my 2.4ghz Core2Duo, 3Gb Ram and a 8800GTS

After everything, I get 45-60 fps, and after some trys on the same stunt, it steadys up on 60. Pretty amazing I think

So if you want I can post everything I've done in some steps, but it changes a lot from a PC to another, so if you tell me your specs.

Didn't upgrade to the latest Patch yet, afraid to lose some of the tweaks, so I still use 1.0.4.0 that doesn't change a lot i guess...
