Ati 4890 or 5770
« on: November 08, 2009, 05:10:27 AM »
Ello computer freaks,

I've been looking for a new videocard for a while now, and I can't decide which one too get. My choice is between the Ati 4890 and 5770, the gpu I'm working with is this one (Seasonic S12II-500):

Right now I'm leaning towards the 4890, but the memory speed is a lot lower then the 5770 and it doesn't support DX11 ofc. Anyone got some advice on which one to get, and is worth the money spending? If you have some other alternatives which work with my gpu, your welcome to post them!

Thanks in advance.

The HD5770 is a little slower than the HD4890 - if DX11 is really important for you go with the HD5770, otherwise with the HD4890. I got the HD4890 myself and I'm really happy with it.

If you can afford a few more bucks you should go with the HD5850 which is about 10% faster than the HD4890 and supports DX11.
