Farcry 2

Yeah, this is out now, and I'm surprised there was no topics about it.

First day it was out my homie got it and I spent a few nights at his house. The game is... long as fuck. About 12 hours of playing and we were only 1/4-1/5 through the game, considering that we beat Bioshock in 10 hours, that's fucking crazy. The game looks amazing, but that's where half the problem is, it looks so good that it's painfully hard to see your enemies unless you are 2 inches from the screen and really looking for them. It's a good game though, it just gets really repetitive and rather annoying, having to pop a pill every hour or so because the main character gets Malaria.

I'd say it's worth Renting, buying if your a diehard fan of Crysis / Farcry or you want to blow your PC up.

Btw, the fucking explosions look absolutely amazing

Edit: And crosshair is turned off defualt, which is fucking stupid as hell.
Edit Edit: And the auto-aim makes it piss easy to kill standing still enemies and quick scope.

I don't really like Farcry 2, for a few things:

- The K.I. is stupid as hell
- No real new things to the gameplay
- It's overwhored by the media

On the other hand I just love the physics engine, so I'd might get it, just to try out the editor and it's limits to the physics engine.

I friend has told me about the game. I like the game if it's true what he said. For example if you need medic he puts a syringe in his arm. Maybe I'll get it of my friend.

I dodged most of the news and picked it up day one because I loved the original Farcry. This game is great for a good small play time, play one mission or two at a time. I am really digging the combat actually, crosshair off is what I like actually...more realistic

I get the repetitiveness issue but whilst they type of missions are the same in their approach you are given a great variety of locations and ways to approach them. If you get sick of the sniper rifle use then switch out to nothing but explosives or automatic weapons....or just burn everything

The only issue I have in the game is that women don't exist outside of a buddy or two. Whilst it is true that women don't fight in such conflicts they are involved and i would love to see a UN camp or something to add realism. To counter the argument that women don't fight would be to suggest that to maintain that idea the game should have used child soldiers.....although i know how most people would have reacted. Farcry 2 is a cool game but it really presents the fuck ups around Africa as trivial and devoid of the human element
